Lindisfarne Abbey Collection
How to hang a drapery rod in the 7th Century style video

Lindisfarne Monastery is on the North East coast of England, near the Scottish border. It was founded by Saint Aiden in 635 CE. The illuminated manuscript of the Lindisfarne Gospels was made roughly between 698 to 715. The illuminations or graphics show the drapery rod, ring and ceiling bracket hand forged by the monks at Lindisfarne Abbey. Here at The Antique Drapery Rod Company we make virtually the exact same hand forged hardware for you 1300 years later.

Please note: the rod shown in the Lindisfarne Gospel does not show a finial but a rounded end.
We suggest the Small Ball finial to keep rings on the rod. It has a hand hammered look.
